EDITING

Philip is building a reputation as an editor of musical scores. Stainer & Bell will shortly be publishing his new edition of Ivor Gurney's song cycle for tenor, string quartet and piano, Ludlow & Teme. This edition has already been recorded for CD by both James Gilchrist (issued 2007) and Andrew Kennedy (to be issued in January). He co-edited the first orchestral work by Ivor Gurney to come out of the archive, the War Elegy, which has been recorded by the BBC Symphony Orchestra for Dutton, and has edited a number of songs by Gurney and W. Denis Browne for recordings and performances.

Philip is currently negotiating a contract with the Elgar Complete Edition to co-edit a volume of Elgar songs with Brian Trowell.
